Addition of Cyber Risk Quantification pioneer creates the world’s only cybersecurity platform aligning the entire security lifecycle to the goal of reducing risk.
TYSONS, VA (September 10, 2020) – Ascend Capital Group (“Ascend”) is pleased to announce its most recent transaction in the cybersecurity space serving as the exclusive financial advisor to Nehemiah Security, a pioneer in the rapidly growing Cyber Risk Quantification (CRQ) space, in its acquisition by ThreatConnect, the leader in reducing complexity and enabling better decision making in cybersecurity. The acquisition adds Cyber Risk Quantification to ThreatConnect’s existing Threat Intelligence Platform (TIP) and Security Orchestration, Automation and Response (SOAR) capabilities, creating the world’s only cybersecurity platform aligning the entire security lifecycle to the goal of reducing risk.
Nehemiah Security is a leading-edge cyber risk quantification platform that enables customers to understand cyber risk from “the inside out” by analyzing and calculating loss exposure, probability of loss, and financial impact of attacks on business units, assets, and the broader enterprise. The company’s simple SaaS solution, Risk Quantifier™ (RQ) continuously measures financial loss associated with cyber risk to enable business leaders to make more informed business decisions.
Paul Farrell, Nehemiah Security Chief Executive Officer said, “When marrying risk into the equation, ThreatConnect not only helps fulfill our vision—where risk drives all decision making in security—but they become one of the most powerful players in security as they can help marry risk, threat and response. It really was a match made in heaven and ThreatConnect will act as a steward of our vision and for the future of security as a whole.”
With the acquisition, ThreatConnect further delivers on its mission of revolutionizing how organizations protect themselves by turning intelligence into action. Adding CRQ to the ThreatConnect Platform creates the most powerful decision and operational support system in cybersecurity. For security executives, their teams, and the stakeholders they support across the organization, ThreatConnect becomes a single source to support their mission of identifying and efficiently mitigating cyber risk.
“The decision to acquire Nehemiah was an easy one as they are ahead of the market in terms of their ability to automate cyber risk quantification,” commented Adam Vincent, ThreatConnect Chief Executive Officer. “Their vision to harness the power of the security ecosystem by integrating technologies and ingesting data fits perfectly with our vision for reducing complexity. With this acquisition, we believe ThreatConnect stands alone in cybersecurity as the only partner that can deliver a true decision and operational support platform for cyber risk management.”
On working with the Ascend team, Paul Farrell added, “Ascend was an incredibly valuable partner to our team throughout the sale process. They are a relationship-focused team and never lost sight of the bigger picture. Their extensive insight and knowledge around positioning and buyers, and their disciplined approach to negotiations helped us achieve a great outcome for everyone.”
“Nehemiah brought pioneering solutions to the cyber risk quantification movement that changed the game,” said D.J. Palmer, Director at Ascend. “Both companies share a strong focus on driving innovation and creating efficiencies. Together, they will help businesses build effective, modernized security programs essential to their success and in protecting them from the hidden threats targeting their environments.”
