Zach Skolnekovich

Zach brings a dual perspective to Ascend, shaped by experience across both principal investing and transaction advisory. That background informs his hands-on approach across the firm’s software and technology M&A engagements, where he advises high-growth companies through critical strategic milestones.

Zach is actively involved in every phase of the transaction lifecycle. His execution expertise includes building detailed bottom-up financial models, benchmarking SaaS KPI analytics, institutional marketing collateral, and tailored positioning strategies for founder-led businesses navigating complex exits. In addition to sell-side mandates, Zach contributes to buy-side advisory engagements, evaluating acquisition targets, managing diligence workstreams, and fostering relationships with PE-backed strategic platforms.

Prior to joining Ascend, Zach served on the investment team at Aldrich Capital Partners, where he evaluated growth equity and buyout investments across the enterprise software ecosystem.
Zach holds a BBA in Finance with a concentration in Entrepreneurship and Innovation from the College of William & Mary. A former NCAA Division I student-athlete, he competed on the cross country and track and field teams, earning two-time All-CAA honors.

Outside the office, Zach spends his time distance running, playing golf, and following the Michigan Wolverines and Pittsburgh Steelers.
